INEC Will Never conspired With Any Political Party To Rig Polls – Yakubu

The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC said it would never conspire with political parties or institutions to undermine the electoral process, saying it is inconceivable that it would go the whole hog to put in place the protection of electoral just to turn around and act in the offense.

INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu who stated this during a meeting with the Resident Electoral Commissioner RECs Tuesday in Abuja, however, regretted that the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice in countries often enter a “Nolle prosequi” to stop the prosecution of some offenders elections.

Opposition PDP People’s Democratic Party on Monday accused of conspiring with referees election of the ruling All Progressive Congress APC to rig elections favor the ruling party.

However, at the meeting, Yakubu said; “The Commission will continue to improve our processes in spite of a very challenging environment created by the actions and inaction of the actors outside of our control.
